LUXE VENUE in Sparkbrook (B12 0UD) has become a go-to music venue for hire in Birmingham for promoters and artists who need a fully equipped hall without the constraints of a licensed bar. We host everything from intimate acoustic sets and singer-songwriter showcases to 500-capacity qawali nights, Bollywood live bands, nasheed concerts and Asian R&B showcases.
The hall is a clean-slate performance space: high ceilings, blackout-capable lighting, a versatile stage, in-house PA and microphones, and seating layouts ranging from theatre-style (500) to cabaret/banquet (300) to floor-seated mehfil (200). Because we don't sell alcohol, you keep 100% of any ticket revenue without the venue taking a bar split — a model that most Birmingham music venues simply don't offer.
Weekday afternoon or Sunday evening. 4-hour hire, capacity up to 150 (theatre).
Friday or Saturday evening. 5-hour hire, capacity up to 300 (mixed).
Saturday evening, 6-hour hire, full 500 capacity.
Most Birmingham music venues either take 100% of bar revenue or a 60/40 split. We charge a flat venue hire fee and let you keep 100% of ticket revenue and any merch/food sales. For a sold-out 300-capacity night at £15/ticket, that's the difference between £4,500 in your pocket and £1,800 after a venue split. Promoters who do the maths come back every season.
For qawali artists, nasheed performers, Asian family audiences and Muslim community promoters, an alcohol-free venue is a requirement, not a compromise. Families bring elders, women feel safer, and security incidents are essentially zero. We've hosted over 40 alcohol-free music nights and the average customer satisfaction score is 4.9/5.
You can sell 500 tickets — but where are they parking? Most Birmingham music venues in the city centre or Digbeth have zero on-site parking and force ticket holders into £15 NCPs or distant residential streets. We have 200+ free on-site spaces, the largest of any music venue in B12. Your audience arrives stress-free and leaves still smiling.
We're 5 minutes from Small Heath, 8 from Moseley, 12 from Digbeth, 15 from the city centre and 18 from Edgbaston/Selly Oak. For South and East Birmingham audiences (where most Asian, Muslim and student music scenes are based), we are often the closest serious music venue.
Our team understands rider riders, runs of show, sound-check schedules, headliner walk-on cues and merch settlement at the end of the night. Bring your tech rider — we'll match it or tell you exactly what to upgrade.
The hall measures roughly 22m × 14m with a ceiling height of 4.8m at the peak. Acoustic treatment includes drape walls, an absorbent ceiling section over front-of-house, and minimal hard reflective surfaces. The stage is 10m wide × 4m deep × 0.6m high, accessible from both stage-left and stage-right via short ramps (DDA-compliant). A flying point is available above the stage for backdrop hangs up to 60kg.
If you need anything specialist (DI boxes for synth-heavy sets, harmonium amplification, tabla mic'ing with PZMs, additional radio mics for compères) we can hire it in at cost + £75 admin. Just brief us 14 days out.
The venue holds a Premises Licence covering live music, recorded music and regulated entertainment up to 11pm Mon–Sun. Extensions to midnight are possible on application for one-off ticketed events (subject to West Midlands Police consultation). Internal sound limits are set at 100 dB(A) at FOH which is comfortably loud for any music genre while protecting neighbouring residential streets. We do not impose Asian-music-only bass limits the way some venues do — your sub bass is welcome.
