Birmingham has the largest South Asian diaspora population of any UK city outside London — and a year-round calendar of cultural events to match. Eid, Diwali, Vaisakhi, Holi, Pongal, Pohela Boishakh, Independence Day celebrations, community award nights, classical Indian dance showcases, Bhangra teams, Bollywood DJ nights and 100+ smaller cultural gatherings happen across the city annually. LUXE VENUE has become a go-to Asian cultural event venue in Birmingham for many of these — because our hall is genuinely versatile.
We are not a "Pakistani venue" or an "Indian venue" or a "Bangladeshi venue" — we host all of them. Our team has experience with Hindu mandap setups, Sikh kirtan PA configurations, Muslim alcohol-free protocols, and Bengali dholok-led celebrations. The hall layout, catering kitchen, parking and licence flex to accommodate whichever cultural event you're running.
Diwali parties, community Diwali dinners, corporate Diwali nights, Hindu temple post-aarti celebrations. We provide warm uplighting, gold/orange decor elements, a stage for cultural performances (classical dance, Bollywood dance teams), and our Halal kitchen runs a 100% vegetarian menu where required for orthodox Hindu families. See our dedicated Diwali venue page.
Eid family gatherings, community Eid Milan parties, charity Eid fundraisers. HMC Halal menu (no compromise), prayer room available, family-friendly seating, alcohol-free environment. Eid bookings span all three Eids (al-Fitr, al-Adha, Eid Milad-un-Nabi). See our Eid venue page.
Vaisakhi Mela after-parties, Sikh community awards, kirtan darbar gatherings, langar-style community meals. Our menu includes 100% vegetarian options, kirtan-appropriate PA setup, and a respectful environment for religious-cultural blending. Floor seating available where preferred.
Ticketed Bollywood nights, Asian DJ nights, music-led cultural showcases. Full PA + sub-bass, stage lighting rig (8 movers + 24 LEDs), DJ booth area, dance floor (no chairs), bar-style mocktail and chai stations. Average attendance 200–450.
Bhangra team showcases, classical Indian dance (bharatnatyam, kathak, odissi), folk dance festivals. Sprung-floor option available in our Studio B (110m²) for rehearsals, main hall for performances. Tabla, dhol, harmonium and DJ amplification all configured properly.
Birmingham has dozens of community awards: business networks, charity awards, faith-based recognitions, youth achievement nights. Standard format: cabaret seating for 200, formal stage with lectern, audio-visual screen for nominee video reels, welcome drinks, sit-down meal, awards presentation. We run 6–8 of these per year.
14 August (Pakistan), 15 August (India), 26 March (Bangladesh), 16 December (Bangladesh), Republic Day (India). Cultural pride events with patriotic decor, traditional dress encouraged, cultural performances and food from the region. We've hosted independence-day events with 380+ attendees.
Sunday afternoon or weekday evening. 5-hour hire, capacity up to 200.
Friday/Saturday evening. 6-hour hire, capacity up to 350.
Saturday peak, 8-hour hire, full 500 capacity.
We're a Muslim-owned venue but we operate religion-neutral. Hindu temple groups, Sikh gurdwara youth committees, Bengali cultural societies, Tamil associations — all have used the venue. The only firm rule is alcohol-free (which actually helps orthodox Hindu and Sikh events too).
Our kitchen runs 100% HMC Halal certified by default, but we can produce dedicated vegetarian menus (pure veg, no meat preparation contact) for orthodox Hindu or Sikh events. Vegan menus also possible with 14-day notice. No "sneaky lard in the dough" surprises.
Mandap setups, kirtan PA configurations, niyam-based dietary requirements, separate-section seating where culturally important — we handle all of these without making it awkward.
Cultural events tend to run later than weddings — community award nights regularly stretch to 11pm, Bollywood nights to midnight on TEN. Our standard licence to 11pm and willingness to apply for midnight TENs makes us a comfortable late-night option.
Cultural events are family events — extended families come together. A 300-person Diwali party means 100+ cars. Our 200+ free spaces handle this without forcing your aunties onto residential streets.
Standard packages include basic warm uplighting. For full thematic decor we either work with your decorator or use our preferred suppliers:
