Diwali in Birmingham is one of the city's biggest cultural moments — the streets of Soho Road, Belgrave Road and Sparkhill light up every October/November as Hindu, Sikh and Jain families gather for the Festival of Lights. Whether you're hosting a family Diwali dinner for 60, a community celebration for 300, or a corporate Diwali party for 200 colleagues — LUXE VENUE in Sparkbrook (B12 0UD) is built to host every variation.
We're known for getting the cultural detail right: pure vegetarian or Jain-compliant menus, traditional diya (oil lamp) staging, rangoli welcome floors, gold-and-jewel-tone styling, prayer area for Lakshmi Puja, and family-friendly hours.

What Makes Diwali Catering Special
Diwali catering is not generic Indian catering. Specific dishes are traditionally served at Diwali — missing them is noticed by older relatives. Our Diwali kitchen prepares:
- Mithai (sweets): ladoo, barfi, kaju katli, gulab jamun, jalebi, peda — these MUST be present
- Savouries: chakli, mathri, samosa, kachori, namkeen mix
- Mains: palak paneer, channa masala, vegetable biryani, jeera rice, daal makhani
- Breads: naan, kulcha, paratha
- Beverages: masala chai, lassi, kahwa
For Jain families we provide onion-and-garlic-free menus with separate prep area. For families wanting Halal options alongside, we offer parallel menus from our HMC-certified kitchen.
Traditional Diwali Decor Elements We Provide
- Diya walkway: 50–200 oil lamps lining the entrance (battery-operated LEDs available for safety)
- Rangoli welcome floor: hand-designed by our decorator using coloured powder or rice flour
- Marigold florals: traditional orange and yellow flower garlands and centrepieces
- Gold-and-red styling: tablecloths, chair sashes, ceiling drapes
- Lakshmi puja area: separate styled corner for prayer with idols, kalash, incense
- Fairy-light ceiling: thousands of warm-white fairy lights creating the "sky of stars" effect
- Lantern hanging displays: traditional Indian akash kandil paper lanterns

Corporate Diwali Parties
About 30% of our Diwali bookings are corporate. Birmingham companies increasingly host Diwali parties for diverse teams. Our corporate Diwali package includes:
- Company-branded welcome signage in Diwali colours
- Inclusive menu (vegetarian + Halal options + dietary requirements)
- Brief cultural education segment (origin of Diwali, what each ritual means)
- Group photos + photographer for social media
- Goody bags with diya and mithai box
Many companies find the Diwali corporate event more inclusive than the Christmas one, particularly for South Asian and East Asian colleagues.
